I love natural light photography and shoot exclusively on location. That means, either in/around your home or at a great outdoor location. A few ideas for fun outdoor spots could be a park, the beach, the lookout at Knox Mountain, a waterpark, the forest, or even downtown, out for a walk.
IN YOUR HOME
We can do photos in your home at anytime during the day, but it's best when there is lots of natural light. Keep in mind that I will most likely turn off all the lights in the room we are shooting so that there isn't a bunch of different shadows. Master bedrooms and living rooms are great spots; the little one's room is another great option. We could also do a "Baking Cookies" session in the kitchen or a "Bathtime" session in the bathroom, the options are endless.
Outdoor sessions are some of my favourites. The ideal time for amazing light is either in the evening (1-2 hours before sunset) or bright and early in the morning. We call this the "magic hour;" the light is nice and warm and the shadows are soft and makes for magical photos, hence the name. On the day of your session, I will get there early and scope out a couple of spots where we can start shooting, so that once you arrive we are all set. Feel free to share any ideas you might have about the location too as I want your session to be authentic to you, plus I love trying new things! You can also bring a favourite blanket or quilt along with you if you like because they are great for sitting on and snuggling in.
If you have somewhere that is meaningful to you as a family, whether that be in your home, up a mountain, on a beach or at a spray-park, lets meet there!
